Snow City Singapore will close on 30 September 2026 after 26 years of operation, bringing an end to Singapore’s first indoor snow centre. From June to September 2026, the attraction will run a farewell programme called One Last Snowfall before it shuts its doors for good.

For many Singaporeans, Snow City Singapore has been more than just a novelty attraction. It has been a place where families, students, and tourists could step into a winter setting without leaving the tropics. The announcement of its closure marks the end of an era for one of the city’s most recognisable family attractions.

A farewell after 26 years

Snow City Singapore first opened in June 2000 and quickly became known as the country’s first permanent indoor snow centre. At the time, the idea of experiencing snow in Singapore felt unusual and exciting, and the attraction soon drew curious visitors of all ages. Over the years, it became a familiar outing spot for families, school groups, birthday celebrations, and corporate team bonding events.

The closure date, 30 September 2026, means the venue will have operated for more than a quarter of a century. That is a long run for any leisure attraction, especially one built around a unique concept that relied on novelty as much as entertainment. Its farewell campaign is a fitting way to mark that history.

One Last Snowfall

To give visitors one final chance to enjoy the attraction, Snow City Singapore is rolling out One Last Snowfall from June until the final day of operations. The programme is designed as a send-off for guests who want to return one more time before the venue closes permanently.

During this period, visitors can expect limited-time offerings and special promotions tied to the farewell theme. One of the highlighted deals is a Snow Play package priced at S$19 for adults and S$16 for children, compared with the usual rates of S$27 and S$23. The package includes one hour of snow play and a bumper car ride, giving visitors a short but memorable winter-themed outing.

The farewell campaign is likely to draw strong interest, especially from families who have fond memories of the attraction. For many, it will be a chance to relive a childhood experience or introduce younger children to a place that has been part of Singapore’s leisure landscape for years.

Why Snow City stood out

What made Snow City Singapore special was not only the snow itself, but the experience of stepping into a cold, white environment in a country known for year-round warmth. The contrast between Singapore’s tropical climate and the sub-zero setting inside the attraction was part of its charm. It offered a rare kind of escape that felt both playful and memorable.

The venue became a destination for visitors looking for something different from the usual malls, cinemas, and indoor play areas. Snow play, tubing, and other winter-style activities gave people a taste of cold-weather fun without needing to travel overseas. For children especially, it offered a first encounter with snow in a safe and accessible environment.

Over time, Snow City Singapore became part of many family traditions. Some visited during school holidays, while others returned for special occasions or casual weekend outings. Its value was not only in its activities, but also in the memories it created across generations.

Location and visitor details

Snow City Singapore is located at 21 Jurong Town Hall Road, in the Jurong East area near the Science Centre Singapore. Its position made it convenient for visitors to combine with other nearby attractions, which helped it remain a popular day-trip destination.

The attraction has typically operated from 10am to 5pm on weekdays, and from 10am to 6pm on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays. Monday closures have applied unless otherwise stated. Visitors planning a final trip are likely to find the attraction busier than usual as the closure date gets closer, particularly on weekends and during school breaks.

Because Snow City Singapore allows timed bookings through its ticketing system, advance reservations are sensible for those hoping to visit during the farewell period. This is especially important now that the closure has been announced and interest is expected to rise.

A memorable chapter ends

The end of Snow City Singapore reflects how attractions change over time, even when they hold a strong place in public memory. A venue built around snow in the tropics will always stand out, and that novelty helped Snow City remain relevant for many years. Its closure does not erase that legacy; instead, it closes a chapter that many people in Singapore will remember fondly.

For children who grew up in the 2000s and 2010s, Snow City Singapore may be remembered as the place where they touched snow for the first time. For parents, it may be tied to family outings, birthday treats, or school-holiday plans. For tourists, it offered a curious glimpse of a winter experience in one of the world’s warmest cities.

As the final day approaches, One Last Snowfall gives the public one more chance to enjoy the attraction before it disappears from Singapore’s entertainment scene. After 26 years, Snow City Singapore is preparing for its last season, and for many visitors, that final visit will be as much about memory as it is about snow.
