Singapore’s newest immersive attraction has arrived, and it is built for fans of science fiction, fantasy, mythology and speculative storytelling. The Portals Experience Singapore opens at Fever Exhibition Hall on 25 Scotts Road for a limited run from 1 June to 2 September 2026.

What is the Portals Experience Singapore?

the Portals Experience Singapore is a 13,000 sq ft walkthrough exhibition that brings one of the world’s largest collections of fantasy and sci‑fi memorabilia to life. Instead of relying on virtual screens or digital gimmicks, the experience is entirely screen‑free and built around hand‑crafted installations, original paintings and intricate dioramas.

Visitors move through eight themed realms that trace humanity’s fascination with imagined worlds, from legendary myths to futuristic visions. The journey showcases how storytelling has evolved across generations while celebrating the artists, authors and creators who shaped these genres.

Eight themed realms to explore

The exhibition is divided into eight distinct zones, each designed to transport guests to fantasy kingdoms and futuristic sci‑fi worlds. While the exact names of each realm are not publicly listed, the overall narrative moves from modern day to the origins of fantasy, science fiction and gaming.

Each zone offers large‑format photo moments and immersive environments that encourage guests to step away from screens and into something more cinematic. The design emphasises tangible storytelling, so everything you see is in real life rather than through VR headsets or digital displays.

Original artwork from iconic universes

A major highlight is the showcase of more than 300 original paintings drawn from iconic fantasy, sci‑fi and gaming universes. These include vintage oil, acrylic and gouache artworks that defined the golden age of sci‑fi and fantasy.

Many of these pieces are being shown publicly for the first time, making this a rare opportunity for art lovers and collectors. Visitors can admire fine details, take photographs and see masterpieces that were once confined to book covers, game illustrations and private collections.

Three massive dioramas with 10,000+ miniatures

One of the most impressive features is the set of three large dioramas, which together display more than 10,000 hand‑painted miniature figures. Each diorama depicts a different world:

  • An Atlantis‑inspired world, billed as the world’s largest recreation of Atlantis
  • A sweeping fantasy battlefield, themed around a medieval “Forever War”
  • A visionary sci‑fi future with futuristic cities and technology

The level of detail is so intricate that visitors often lean in for a closer look, sometimes wishing they had brought a magnifying glass. This collection marks the global debut of one of the world’s largest sets of original fantasy and sci‑fi miniatures.

A local sci‑fi spin: Future Singapore 2126

To celebrate the global debut in Singapore, organiser The Imaginariad commissioned Singapore‑based illustrator Kristal Melson to create an exclusive local series. Her “Future Singapore: 2126” collection reimagines familiar local icons through a futuristic lens.

The series features electrifying colours and 20 years of artistic expertise, blending local lore with storytelling. Iconic Singapore motifs such as durians, the Marina Bay Sands silhouette and the Merlion appear in visionary future settings. These works are available only at the Portals Experience gift shop as limited merchandise.

Exclusive merchandise and collectibles

As with most exhibitions, visitors will find exclusive on‑site merchandise, including:

  • Rare prints and signed artworks
  • Postcard sets
  • T‑shirts
  • The limited “Future Singapore 2126” collection by Kristal Melson

VIP and Collectors Ultra‑VIP ticket holders receive additional perks such as goodie bags and authentic prints signed by artists.
