Jewel Changi Unveils Super Mario Theme for Year-End Holidays

November 17, 2023 — This year-end holiday season, Jewel Changi Airport transforms into a spectacular Super Mario wonderland, offering fans of the iconic Nintendo franchise a whimsical and immersive experience. From now until January 1st, visitors to the mall will be treated to a festive extravaganza titled “Pipe Around the World at Jewel,” featuring engaging photo spots, exclusive meet-and-greets, and unique merchandise.

Super Mario Comes to Life

The event brings the beloved characters and elements of the Super Mario world to life. Photo opportunities abound at the Shiseido Forest Valley, where fans can snap pictures with their favourite characters and iconic power-up items from the franchise. Adding to the Mario-themed celebration, 56 pipes, reminiscent of the video game’s adventurous levels, are dotted throughout Jewel Changi Airport.

Meet Mario and Luigi

As a special treat for visitors, Mario and Luigi themselves will be available for exclusive meet-and-greet sessions. These sessions are scheduled to occur three times daily at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. from November 17th to 19th at the South Gateway Garden on the mall’s second level. Fans will have the chance to interact with these legendary video game characters up close.

Exclusive Nintendo Merchandise

Accompanying the festive activities, Jewel and Nintendo have collaborated to release exclusive merchandise related to the event. This collection includes a 2-in-1 cushion and neck pillow, a travel organiser, a canvas bag, and a travel pouch, all adorned with Super Mario-themed designs. These limited-edition items provide fans with a unique way to remember their visit.

Festive Ambiance at Jewel

A magnificent 16-meter-tall Christmas tree at the Shiseido Forest Valley’s main entrance serves to further amplify the holiday spirit at Jewel. The fairy lights, lighted arches, Christmas trees, and other festive decorations adorning the Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park will enchant visitors. These decorations create a magical atmosphere, perfect for the holiday season.

Adding to the festivities, Jewel Changi Airport hosts a choreographed light show at the HSBC Rain Vortex every evening at 7.30 p.m., 8.30 p.m., and 9.30 p.m., with an additional show from Fridays to Sundays at 10.30 p.m.These shows feature Christmas melodies, providing a captivating visual and auditory experience.

Furthermore, on December 23rd, the Shiseido Forest Valley will be the stage for a ticketed concert featuring performances by local artists Benjamin Kheng and Annette Lee, as well as a handbell performance by the Ministry of Bellz. Concert tickets are available online for S$36, offering an exclusive musical treat amidst the holiday celebrations.
