Singapore Set to Host Major Pokémon Go Event

Singapore is preparing to welcome Pokémon trainers from across the region as the highly anticipated Pokémon Go City Safari arrives on March 29 and 30, 2025. This citywide adventure will transform Singapore into a Pokémon paradise from 10am to 6pm daily, offering players a unique opportunity to explore the island’s rich heritage while catching exclusive Pokémon.

The event marks a significant moment for Pokémon Go enthusiasts in Southeast Asia, following successful Safari Zone events previously held in France, Sweden, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, and a previous Singapore edition in 2022. This year’s City Safari promises to be even more exciting with exclusive Pokémon, special research tasks, and unique in-game bonuses.

Exclusive Pokémon Encounters

The highlight of the City Safari will undoubtedly be the exclusive appearance of Mudbray, the Donkey Pokémon, which will currently only be available during this event. Trainers should note that while Mudbray may appear worldwide at a later date, this represents a rare opportunity to add this Pokémon to your collection before anyone else.

In addition to Mudbray, other event-themed Pokémon will appear more frequently throughout Singapore, including Swirlix, Slugma, Gastly, Mr. Mime, and Tirtouga. These special wild spawns will be available across all event locations, giving trainers plenty of opportunities to expand their Pokédex.

Eevee Explorers Expedition

Ticket holders will receive a special Eevee wearing an explorer hat at the beginning of the City Safari Special Research. This event-exclusive Pokémon can be evolved into any of Eevee’s known evolutions—Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon—while still retaining its explorer hat, making it a truly unique addition to any trainer’s collection.

The event also features the Eevee Explorers Timed Research, which guides players on a tour of notable locations across Singapore. By spinning designated PokéStops at six key locations—Sentosa, Pasir Ris, Bay Area, Ang Mo Kio, Jurong East, and Sembawang—trainers can earn additional encounters with the explorer hat-wearing Eevee. Ticket holders can receive up to eight encounters with this special Eevee through the Timed Research, in addition to the one received from the event Special Research.

Heritage Routes Partnership

In a creative collaboration with Singapore’s National Heritage Board, Pokémon Go has launched five official heritage routes based on existing trails that showcase the island’s cultural diversity and historical significance:

Little India/Tekka: Explore the vibrant cultural hub and famous Tekka Market
Tiong Bahru: Discover the area’s charming 1930s art deco architecture
Sembawang: Learn about Singapore’s rural past and naval heritage
Orchard Road: Uncover the history behind this popular shopping district
Pasir Ris: Experience Singapore’s coastal beauty and natural shoreline

These official routes will guide players through historical landmarks while sharing lesser-known stories and fun facts about Singapore’s history and heritage. Importantly, these routes will remain available in the game even after the City Safari event concludes, allowing trainers to explore at their leisure.

Event Locations and Pop-up Store

The Pokémon Go City Safari will take place across multiple locations in Singapore, including:

Ang Mo Kio

Marina Bay

A special Pokémon Center Singapore Pop-Up Store will operate at HarbourFront Centre Outdoor Plaza from 10am to 6pm on both event days. Visitors can shop for exclusive Pokémon merchandise and receive a free Pikachu sun visor as a gift (while supplies last).

Ticket Information and Add-ons

Tickets for the Pokémon Go City Safari are priced at SGD$19 for a single day, with the option to purchase a two-day ticket for SGD$34. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are non-refundable, so interested trainers should secure their spots early.

To enhance the event experience, players can purchase optional add-ons for SGD$15 each:

Raid Lover: Provides up to 12 free Raid Passes per day, additional 5,000 XP from completed raids, and bonus Candy and Candy XL from five-star and Primal Raids
Egg-thusiast: Grants 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance, double Hatch Stardust, double Hatch XP, and double Hatch Candy

These add-ons are active for both days of the City Safari, even for trainers who purchase a single-day ticket.

Special Event Bonuses

All ticket holders will receive the following bonuses between 10am and 6pm anywhere in Singapore on their ticketed day:

Increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lures) activated during the event will last four hours
Up to five special trades can be made per day
Trades will require 50% less Stardust
Your buddy Pokémon may find an exclusive Tiny Compass souvenir

Important Notes for Participants

It’s crucial to note that players must be physically present in Singapore to participate in the event. The gameplay will only be available during the specified dates and times, so trainers should plan their visit accordingly.
